Dorking Wanderers have announced the high profile signing of former Ebbsfleet and ex AFC Wimbledon professional Luke Moore.

29 year old former Moore is highly regarded and experienced both in league and non-league football. He started his career at Ebbsfleet United, making 123 appearances and scoring 20 goals. This included the FA Trophy victory over Torquay United at Wembley Stadium in 2008.

Whilst at Ebbsfleet Moore was also selected to play for England C, where he scored on his debut in a defeat versus Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After Ebbsfleet Moore signed for AFC Wimbledon, and was part of the side that triumphed over Luton Town in the 2011 Conference play-off final, scoring in the penalty shoot-out at the Etihad Stadium to help secure promotion to the Football League. He then went on to play two further seasons as a professional for AFC Wimbledon in league two, and in total he made 168 appearances for “The Dons” and scored 30 goals.

Moore is excited to be signing for Marc White’s Isthmian Premier League side. He commented:

“I feel the vision the management team have for the football club is something I want to be a part of. The way Marc was showing interest demonstrated how much he wanted me, and I want to be at a club at this stage of my career that is moving forward, playing good football and has that winning mentality”.

Moore added:

“Everything about Dorking Wanderers is telling you that it is moving forward. The playing staff are young and hungry and are only going to get better, and there is also the new ground to look forward to. Hopefully I can help with the progression of the club and be here for several years to come”.

As expected Wanderers Manager Marc White is very happy to have secured the services of Moore. He said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to sign a player of the stature of Luke Moore. I’ve watched Luke play many times from the early part of his career at Ebbsfleet, and latterly at AFC Wimbledon, and he’s an exceptionally hard working player with an eye for goal, as-well-as a natural leader”.

White continued:

“I think it’s testament to how far the club has come off the field that we can attract a player of Luke’s pedigree, and once again it demonstrates the intentions we have regarding our progression”.
